Joe Mzinga is the Regional Coordinator of the Eastern and Southern Africa Small-Scale Farmers’ Forum (ESAFF), providing strategic leadership to the organisation and its network across Eastern and Southern Africa. He leads ESAFF’s regional policy engagement, partnerships, institutional development and advocacy for stronger participation of smallholder farmers in agricultural and development processes. His work involves engagement with governments, Regional Economic Communities, African Union institutions and development partners on food systems, agricultural policy, climate resilience, agroecology and farmer empowerment. He also provides overall leadership in programme implementation, resource mobilisation and strengthening ESAFF’s regional influence.
